    Two young adult M/N cats approximately 7 months of age. Each given 0.2 mg/kg midazolam, 0.040 mg/kg buprenorphine, and 0.010 mg/kg medetomidine combined and given IM in the epaxial musculature. There was no significant patient response to the initial IM injection or to the catheter placement at 20 minutes postIM injection. Recovery was smooth and uneventful. SAP ranged from 102 mmHg to 110mmHg in one, 105 to 130 mmHg in the other. Heart rate ranged from 112 to 128 in one, and 72 to 88 in the other. ETCO2 ranged from 30 to 44 mmHg. Inspired/expired sevoflurane ranged from 0.8 to 1.5% during the procedure. recovery temperatures were 99.0 and 99.8 F.
