Prior to sedation.   0.1 mg/kg hydromorphone + 0.004 mg/kg medetomidine + 0.2 mg/kg midazolam combined and given IM in the epaxial muscles.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
   
 
   
  30 minutes postextubation45 minute dental hygiene procedure BP, ETCO2, pulse ox, ECG all nominal 99.4 F postanesthetic temp.  
  10 years of age 
   
   
   
 
 
0.1 mg/kg hydromorphone + 0.002 mg/kg medetomidine + 0.1 mg/kg midazolam combined and given IM in the epaxial muscles. 15 minutes after injection. The decision to reduce the medetomidine 50% was a judgement based on the patient's previous anesthetic event.   20 minutes after IM injection.
 
   
  40 minutes postpremed injection, prior to induction. Note relatively short lived heavy sedation with this combination in this patient.
